    Love is in the Air…

    By: Christy Temple

Well, it’s February again and close to time for us all to celebrate the most wondrous emotion that we can give to others. I am speaking of love and it’s definitely in the air at this time of the year as Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. I know that for many of us there will be candy and flowers sent to our respective significant others. We will also exchange cards and other tokens of affection from our loved ones.

However, the most significant part of it all is just the ability or willingness to express love to another person. Every person has the ability to express this most wonderful of emotions but just because we have the ability doesn’t mean we always put it to the greatest use. I know that on a daily basis life tends to get in the way and makes it difficult to have those loving feelings all the time towards those we treasure in our lives. In fact, there are some days where we downright just don’t want to show any sort of affection whatsoever, unless it’s to show dissatisfaction with something that they’ve done wrong in our opinion.

This leads me to the conclusion that sometimes we all may need a little help in the area of love connections, whether it be a friend or relative or an acquaintance. I know some years ago I personally needed some assistance in that area as I was getting older and Mr. Right had yet to come along. Lucky for me though, I had a lot of prayers being said for me by my mother, friends, coworkers, etcetera that really seemed to greatly help.

However, I realize not everyone may have the same type of support as I did but there are other ways of help besides the human kind. The other types of support that I am referring to would be the plethora of books that have been written on the subject of love, relationships, etc. Many of these books contain a great deal of knowledge and information on what to do when having issues with relationships. They can be funny and candid in the case of personal biographies or they can have more of a somber tone. There are also plenty of self-help books available to for any kind of relationship.

So, if you need any relationship help you can always go to the Daviess County Public Library and seek the assistance of any number of books that own on relationships and love. The latest catalog search shows that we own at least 224 titles on love and relationships. Here are just some of the latest titles we own. Happy Valentine’s Day and I hope you find what you are looking for!
