Library Card Eligibility
You are eligible for a FREE library card if you:
- are a resident of Daviess County 18 years or older (4-year expiration, renewable online).
- Residents aged 3-17 may apply with a parent/guardian signature.
- Residents aged 13-17 may apply for a limited Teen Pass card without a parent/guardian signature. Apply for a Teen Pass.
- are employed in Daviess County (1-year expiration). We accept a payment stub or a statement of employment on company letterhead as proof of employment.
- own property in Daviess County (4-year expiration).
- are a full-time student in Daviess County.
- are over the age of 50 and live in Kentucky (1-year expiration; may be updated & renewed online).
If you are not eligible for a free card, you may apply for a non-resident card. The annual fee for a non-resident card is $45.
Library cards are non-transferable. Family and corporate cards are not available.

Apply at the Library
Visit the library’s Application Desk to apply for a card. Please bring your government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, military ID, passport, or Matricula Consular card. Applicants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Apply Online
Daviess County residents 18 years or older may apply online.
You may be automatically verified and receive a digital card to store in your smartphone’s wallet. If you cannot be automatically verified, you will receive a temporary barcode to use immediately.
You MUST email a scanned image of your valid government-issued ID to ecard@dcplibrary.org. The address on the ID must match the address on your application. We will verify your identity and mail a card to you within 14 days.
After you submit your application, check your inbox or spam folder for an email from no-reply@dcplibrary.org.
Get a Teen Pass card
Daviess County residents between the ages of 13 and 17 may apply online for a limited Teen Pass card. A Teen Pass does not require a parent or guardian signature.
Get a SmartPass digital card
If you already have a library card, you can apply for a SmartPass digital library card for your iPhone or Android smartphone wallet. Never leave your library card at home again.
