Board of Directors

The Daviess County Public Library Taxing District Board of Trustees meets regularly on the third Wednesday of each month at 5:00 PM in the Third Floor Board Room of the Daviess County Public Library.  Members of the public are welcome to attend the board meetings. Please go to First Floor Information Desk to ask for assistance to access the Third Floor.

Michelle Drake, President
Term ends September 13, 2023

Michelle Drake

Michelle Drake was appointed to the DCPL Board of Trustees on September 13, 2015, and is currently serving her second term and is the Board President. She is the Workforce Training and Business Administrator for the Green River Area Development District and has been with GRADD for 28 years working in job training and workforce development. In addition to her current job responsibilities, she serves as a board member for the local OSHRM chapter and Secretary for Genesis Reentry Skills Inc. 

Rodney Ellis, Treasurer

Rodney Ellis

Rodney Ellis was appointed to the DCPL Board of Trustees on January 5, 2017 (filling an unexpired term) and is currently serving his first full term and is the Board Treasurer. He is the Vice-President and Senior Commercial Lender at Independence Bank. He formerly served as Treasurer of the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra.

Susan Montalvo-Gesser, Secretary

Susan Montalvo-Gesser

Susan Gesser was appointed to the DCPL Board of Trustees on September 13, 2017, and is currently serving her second term and is the Board Secretary. She is the Director of Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Owensboro where she runs programming to address the social concerns of the Church, including Immigration Services. Formerly she was the Managing Attorney at Kentucky Legal Aid in Owensboro where she represented clients in issues of Family Law, Immigration cases involving Domestic Violence, Housing, and Estate Planning.

Beena Vora
Term ends September 13, 2022

Beena Vora

Beena Vora was appointed to the DCPL Board of Trustees on December 18, 2014, and is currently serving her second term as a Board Member. She is from Mumbai, India and moved to Owensboro nearly 15 years ago, and loves this town dearly. She works at Owensboro Medical Practice. She has been a longtime patron of the library, starting with her own children who spent their summers reading at the library.  

Harry Pedigo

Harry Pedigo

Harry Pedigo was appointed to the DCPL Board of Trustees on December 3, 2020 (filling an unexpired term) and is currently serving his first full term as a Board Member. He is the Executive Director of the St. Benedict’s Homeless Shelter. St. Benedict’s is a temporary refuge for regional individuals experiencing homelessness. He is also the Co-Owner and Co-Founder of Stepping Out LLC as well as the Founder of the Recovery and Restoration Program at Bridgepointe Church. Mr. Pedigo serves on the Homeless Council of Ohio Valley as well as the OCTC Advisory Board for Human Services, and the Audubon Area Community Care Clinic.
