Board of Directors
The Daviess County Public Library Taxing District Board of Trustees meets regularly on the third Wednesday of each month at 5:00 PM in the Third Floor Board Room of the Daviess County Public Library. Members of the public are welcome to attend the board meetings. Please go to First Floor Information Desk to ask for assistance to access the Third Floor.

Susan Montalvo-Gesser, President
Term ends September 13, 2025
Susan Gesser was appointed to the DCPL Board of Trustees on September 13, 2017, and is currently serving her second term and is the Board President. She is the Director of Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Owensboro where she runs programming to address the social concerns of the Church, including Immigration Services. Formerly she was the Managing Attorney at Kentucky Legal Aid in Owensboro where she represented clients in issues of Family Law, Immigration cases involving Domestic Violence, Housing, and Estate Planning.
Rodney Ellis, Treasurer
Term ends September 13, 2026
Rodney Ellis was appointed to the DCPL Board of Trustees on January 5, 2017 (filling an unexpired term) and is currently serving his second term and is the Board Treasurer. He is the Vice-President and Senior Commercial Lender at Independence Bank. He formerly served as Treasurer of the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra.
Kevin Dorth
Term ends September 13, 2027
Kevin Dorth was appointed to the DCPL Board of Trustees on September 14, 2023 and is currently serving his first term as a Board Member. He teaches history at Owensboro Community & Technical College and received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and Master’s degree from Western Kentucky University. He lives in Owensboro with his wife, Kristin, and daughters Lillian, Evelyn, and Brooklyn.
Kathi Mattas
Term ends September 13, 2025
Kathi Mattas was appointed to the DCPL Board of Trustees on April 17, 2024 (filling an unexpired term). She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from Murray State University. Kathi lives in Owensboro with her family, is a homeschool mom, and currently volunteers with Refuge International Owensboro as a driver and English tutor for Afghan refugees.
