HISTORY

1912 – Established as a Carnegie Free Public Library on the corner of Frederica and Ninth Streets.
1968 – Moved to 450 Griffith Avenue as Owensboro/Daviess County Public Library.
1993 – Online card catalog began.
1995 – Daviess County Public Library Taxing District was formed and the library was renamed Daviess County Public Library.
1997 – Internet access for the public became available.
2005- Groundbreaking for new building.
2007 -Moved to 2020 Frederica Street, Owensboro KY.

Built in 2007.
Serves 92,000 people in Owensboro and Daviess County.
51,000 square feet.
Two floors for public access.  Third floor is staff offices.
Handicapped accessible.
